## Next-Generation Health Wearable Sets New Industry Standard
The device, priced at 399 dollars, incorporates Samsung proprietary BioActive Sensor 2 chip, which the company claims achieves medical-grade accuracy for blood pressure readings within 3 mmHg of traditional cuff measurements. The sensor uses photoplethysmography combined with bioimpedance analysis to deliver continuous cardiovascular monitoring without requiring user calibration.
"Galaxy Ring 2 represents our vision of invisible health technology," President of Samsung Electronics MX Division T.M. Roh said at the launch event. "Wearables should enhance health outcomes without demanding attention from the wearer."
The 14-day battery life represents a significant engineering achievement. The original Galaxy Ring lasted approximately 5 days, while Apple competitors offer 3 to 7 days depending on usage patterns. Samsung achieved the improvement through a new 18-millimeter lithium-silicon battery and a custom low-power co-processor that handles sensor data without activating the main chipset.
## Technical Specifications and Health Features
Samsung medical technology division confirmed that the Galaxy Ring 2 has received FDA clearance for its blood pressure monitoring function and CE marking for the European market. The device also monitors blood oxygen saturation, skin temperature, sleep stages, and heart rate variability with accuracy comparable to clinical-grade pulse oximeters.
Dr. Yong-in Kim, head of Samsung digital health research laboratory, presented clinical validation data from a 5,000-patient study conducted across Samsung Medical Center and Seoul National University Hospital. "The correlation coefficient between Galaxy Ring 2 blood pressure readings and invasive arterial measurements was 0.94, exceeding the 0.90 threshold required for medical device classification," Dr. Kim reported.

Samsung pricing strategy positions the Galaxy Ring 2 at 100 dollars below Apple rumored price point, while offering superior battery life and blood pressure monitoring that Apple device is not expected to include at launch.
